Welcome to the NHS Community Diagnostics Service

OurĀ  DXA service is delivered by dedicated, specifically trained DXA radiographers who are conversant with the presentation of osteoporosis and factors affecting bone density loss. The time from referral to scan is very short with examination reports sent the next day.

DXA is an excellent tool for the prediction of the probability of major or hip fracture within the next 10 years using a FRAX questionnaire and the scan values generated, giving an indication of follow up and recommendation for treatment in all cases.

We are regulated and overseen by both CQC and Monitor and have an appointed registered manager who takes overall responsibility for all clinical aspects of the service. Our reporting times are within 24 hours from the examination to referrer turnaround.

Through regular clinical governance and discrepancy meetings, high clinical quality standards are consistently achieved.

Each month more than 90 % of our patients rate our services as excellent.

Audit of patient position, image acquisition and manipulation is carried out for each radiographer ensuring good reproducibility for subsequent scans.

We have zero cases of MRSA and C Dificile.
